S.M.A.R.T. at Home 9/15

Dear Educators,

Congratulations on the start of a new school year.  We hope the wrinkles have been ironed out, the programs are in full swing, and that your feeling settled into your class routine.
Our monthly newsletter will contain a new feature this year.  S.M.A.R.T. at Home is designed to provide ways for you to educate parents about S.M.A.R.T., its activities, and ideas for ways to continue the S.M.A.R.T. stimulation at home. We all recognize and value the importance of a solidhome/school connection and S.M.A.R.T. is one way to keep that connection strong.
One way programs can implement S.M.A.R.T. at Home is to include the suggestions in your newsletter. Many teachers have found it effective to include a "S.M.A.R.T. corner" or section in their newsletters home that is solely devoted to explaining what the children have been doing and why during S.M.A.R.T.
Another way to use S.M.A.R.T. at Home is social media.  Each month, we will post a S.M.A.R.T. at Home message on our Facebook page (A Chance To Grow) that you can simply share on your program's page for parents to read.
We hope that this months parent letter written to explain the S.M.A.R.T. program will be a helpful way for you to talk to your families about the brain stimulation happening in your classroom.  Please feel free to download the letter or use it as a guide in crafting your own parent letter.
Happy Fall!
